Q. How many sites or towers are used in the GRN?
A. Approximately 150 sites are used to provide GRN coverage across the State
Q. We have heard that there is a monthly access charge per radio per month, if this is true, what is the rate?
A. Yes, there is a monthly access charge per radio, per month. The rate is set by the NSW Treasury. Please contact the Government Chief Information Office (see Contacts) for this information.
Q. How is the network managed on a day to day basis?
A. Telstra are required to manage the GRN and provide a contracted level of service. They manage the day-to-day running of the GRN from the Operations Centre, which is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Q. Who may access the GRN network?
A. NSW Government Agencies and Statutory Authorities
Q. What services are available apart from voice radio communications?
A. Low-Speed Data, Dispatch-Consoles
