Network Status - Notices
Notices are sent to registered Agencies for any event that has, or may have an impact on GRN Network performance. These updates are currently sent via fax stream and/or email from the GRN HelpDesk.
To become a member of this notification process, please contact the GRN Helpdesk (see Contacts).
The types of notices that can be received:
- Outage Notification (Planned Outage)
Notification is generally sent a minimum 48 hours prior to the outage taking place. These outages are usually for preventative maintenance inspections or upgrades to site equipment.
- Incident Notification (Unplanned Outage)
Incident notices are sent when the network as observed a failure in the network, or is made aware of an incident that is taking place (ie bushfires) that may require heavier that usual radio traffic on a site (or sites). The notification describes the site(s) involved, the incident taking place and the expected duration if known.
- Hazard Notification
Hazards are events planned for a site that should not have any impact on the operation of the site, however there is a higher risk of something going wrong resulting in a possible outage (ie, should electricity be cut to a site the backup batteries will take over). Notification is generally sent at least 24 hours prior to the event taking place.
- Bulletins
Additionally, bulletins are occassionally sent via this service to update Agency Users to relevant items of interest.
Please note, The HelpDesk accepts no responsibility for incorrect or changed fax numbers. It is an Agency’s responsibility to advise the Helpdesk (see Contacts) of the correct numbers, and any changes in fax numbers.
