NSW State Plan, A New Direction for NSW

last modified 10 Oct 2007 11:26 AM

The state plan focuses on five areas of activity of the NSW Government:

  • Rights, Respect and Responsibility - the justice system and services that promote community involvement and citizenship
  • Delivering Better Services - key services to the whole population including health, education and transport
  • Fairness and Opportunity - services that promote social justice and reduce disadvantage
  • Growing Prosperity Across NSW - activities that promote productivity and economic growth, particularly in regional NSW
  • Environment for Living - planning for housing and jobs, environmental protection, arts and recreation.

The State Plan sets out the goals the community wants the NSW Government to work towards.

It identifies priorities for Government action that will help achieve each of these goals over the next 10 years.  Targets have been set where possible.

The plan does not cover everything the State Government does.  This plan sets out the priorities on which we will focus our efforts for improvement.

The State Plan is not just a plan for the NSW Government; it is a plan to involve everyone in helping us respond to the chanllenges and opportunities we all face.
